The Next Step

I have completed the next step in this little adventure of mine.  The deposit has been sent, the paperwork completed, and now it is time to get serious with the actual business of moving.

My father, who lives in Alberta, has put his house up for sale and is selling off everything that he owns as he is coming with us to Vava'u.  My husband, Barry, and I are feverishly working to fix up our house before it goes on the market.  New kitchen, new flooring, new lighting, and lots of landscaping.

We are also setting up for a moving sale which will see everything we own (minus some items that we will be taking with us) with a price tag on it.  The more we can get out of the house the easier the renovations will go and the faster we will be able to sell the house.  Once the house is gone ... so are we!

Exciting stuff!

  2. Hi There,

I have bought my property in Cocomo Village and after corresponding to many different people and even talking to a few I believe that the move will be safe. One thing you must understand is that there is nothing there. The Village is under construction. As people move there and build their houses the village will develop. Right now it is just a whole bunch of lots.

  3. Dear Char, well, I’ve read about your new Life in Paradise and I admire your courage pursuing your dream to spend the rest of your life on an island in the South Pacific.
After all, isn't this every mans most wildest however truest dream come true? Fortunate are you! You ask for comments about all and after reading other such ' Tonga dealings" comments I feel compelled to write a short note about your land agent Robert Bryce. I met Robert in 2008 looking for my Paradise in the South Pacific. All I can say is now in 2014 after so many intrigues with other agents, bureaucrats, solicitors, I wish it was Robert who effectuated my original real estate transaction from A to Z. Robert is very savvy, knows the Law of the Land and truly loves the South Pacific and knows how to bypass certain bureaucratic functions. Robert has the same dream as you and I pursuing his dream and has accomplished all that he set out to do and lives wonderfully 100% of his time in Paradise. He is very happy as well as his entire family. I've noticed people are so quick to judge especially on these small isolated islands where there is no real income, real estate agents most of all and anyone who has succeeded his or her life is on the attack of others self absorbed false claims stemming from jealousy. Robert has helped me out during the years and continues to do so and I must say, he is there for me and has accomplished everything we set out to do. Yes, and he can be reached and answers your every concern 24/7 because he realizes as he’s been in the same boat as you and I, understanding its a big thing to abandon a comfortable life in the East and start a whole brand new life in the South Pacific with new friends and cultures even though it IS Paradise. Please stick with your dream. Dreams do come true and quite frankly you are fortunate to have found Robert on your new Journey.
